Paweł Styrna - lawyer, judge, Chairman of the National Council of the Judiciary

 

Born 4th March, 1971 in Limanowa. A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University. After a full-time court apprenticeship, in 1997 he passed the judge's exam. In the years 1997-1999 a trainee judge and subsequently a full-time judge at the District Court for Kraków-Podgórze in Kraków. From 1st July 2003, judge of the District Court in Wieliczka.

Between 2003-2007 he was the chairman of the 3rd Division of Land and Mortgage Registers in the District Court in Wieliczka; from 2017 to 2018, the deputy chairman of the 4th Family and Juvenile Division of the District Court in Wieliczka; from 7th February 2018, the Vice-President of the District Court in Krakow.

He completed postgraduate studies in "Intellectual Property Law" organised by the Jagiellonian University and "Economics and Economic Law" at the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw.

By the resolution of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland of March 6, 2018, he was elected to the National Council of the Judiciary for a four-year term of office, which began on 7th March 2018. Since 29th January 2021, he has become the Chairman of the National Council of the Judiciary.
